I’ve gotten a lot of email since Tentacles came out asking if there will be a third book. You’re fast readers!
The answer is yes, and there will probably be more books after the third with Grace and Marty and the Cryptos Island gang.
Next question: “When will it be out?”
Answer: “I flattered, but the ink is barely dry on Tentacles. All I can say is that it will be out a lot sooner than Tentacles appeared after the first book, Cryptid Hunters.”
Next question: “Do you know the title?”
Answer: “No. I generally don’t come up with the title until after I finish a book.”
Next question: “Do you know what happens?”
Answer: “Yes.”
Last question: “Will you tell me what happens?”
Answer: “I’m afraid you’ll have to wait for the third book. Sorry.”
That’s awesome, but I remeber you said it took you like 5 years to write cryptid hunters so I hope the 3rd book doesnt take that long. Also are you planning to try to make your book a movie or has anyone talked to you about that yet?
I just finished Tentacles and it was so gooooooooooood! Sadly while i was leaving school i read it down the hallway and tripped! It was worth the fall though to finish the book.

I just finished tentacles today! Wow it is an awesome book! I can hardly wait for the sequel of it to come out. I would love to see the series become a movie.

I don’t think it will take that long to write the third book. As to movies, that’s up to someone who makes movies, not me.
I hope there’s a movie someday too, but that’s not up to me.

I read Tenticals over Christmas and am so exited for the next book. (I hate not knowing after cliff hangers) Do you have any time fram of when the next book will be out? Or even what it’s name will be?

i have read all of your books well not the kiddy ones but other than those and i have been waiting for the next book after tentacles. while waiting i got bored so i started reading the alex rider books by anthony horowitz, and there pretty good but not as good as yours.
ive read cryptid hunters 6 times and tenecles 4 times! i love those books!

I finished the tentacles book in one day. at first i was a little skeptical on the first book but after i read the first chapter i was glued to the book. honestly i would compare this to the harry potter series or even better! i also have a question for you: do you think that a movie of your books will ever get published? If it does i think itd be a great movie
ps. one more thing is it possible for u to come to r school sometime? itd be kinda kool. o and also im in the middle of a book tht im writing i kinda got lost for awhile and when i read your books it inspired me to write more i hope the nxt book comes out soon!
I read cryptid hunters in 3rd grade and since then ive read it 5 times and just finished tentacles this morning! it was great!!! i cant wait til the 3rd book comes out! Roland Smith is the best author ever!! i dnt understand the reason Why everyone says the harry potter books are so good i luv Roland smith’s books!!!if you havent read either cryptid hunters or tentacles you need to read them!!
I love the Cryptid hunters and tentacles books! i just saw them in my school libary the 4th page of cryptid hunters hooked me into any other book related to it! ive been learning cryptids and having i great little imagination of the dinosaurs and Butch in my head! Read both in 2 weeks can’t wait till the next one!
I also am not a big reader but after cryptid hunters i love your books. The summary of peak doesn’t seem to attract me but i think i may give it a shot after these two books!

I am 12 years old and in the summer i went to a reading class and it said your books were suggested to read.
I read Cryptid Hunters and it was the best book i ever read.
Now i am reading tentacles and it is going so well.

I read your cryptid hunters twice when i checked it out from my school library. Once I saw tenticals, I knew i had to read it. The end was a twist and i cant wait to read your next one. I read both of your books about two years ago in a week. I couldnt put them down. I wish i get this series for christmas. You should really try to hurry up with this next book already. YOUR KILLING ME!!! 🙂

hi my class and i are reading cryptid hunters and we are almost done with it. right after im done reading it i will read tentacles. im in 5 th grade and i want to be a cryptozoologist when im older .i love readind your books your on e of my favorite authors.

I can’t wait for the next book. I finished tentacles at school today and I did not know it was in a seris so i’m reading cryptid hunters right now. But, you had a real cliffhanger when Grace went with Noah Blackwood but i’m glad Luther put the dragonspy in her pocket though I better be quiet incase someone reading this had not finished tentacles but, I realy like your books when will the sequal to tentacles come out? Make it soon and i’m proably going to finish cryptid hunters by the end of this week.

i just finished elephant run i loved it i read tentacles and cryptid hunters and right now im working on peak i was going to read jaguar but thats out of my grade level uhg get done with the books sooon love your books
Most of what I know about those animals are found in my books “Cryptid Hunters” and “Tentacles.”
I’ll let you know about the third Cryptid Hunter book, when I know. All I know for now is that it will be awhile before it comes out. I have a few other books to finish first.
Your books are awsome, but they should be much longer, like 450+ pages because i am waiting on your 3rd… hopefully till like 100th, and i read all your books… ill rate them 10.9 out of 5.0

hey roland. i just want u 2 know that i read like EVERY book u published more than 2 times except for the thunder cave series, captains dog and elephant run (which i’m reading as we speak (type)) every thing that you’ve written….is so inspirational. i’m giving my best shot at writing actually, and I’m doing EXTREMELY well for a 12 year old. i also would like 2 thank u. you’ve helped me up from what was a deep deep slump (more so a never-ending abyss) and now i’m making my way once again. i love your books!!i was in the library at school looking for an adventure book when i saw the title POP OUT.Crypted hunters was the 1st book i read and it explains everything in all the other books.your books make me want to sit in my bed for hours and just want to talk to you about your books.i have lots of questions to ask you.my main question is what inspired you to write?
